I’d catch a grenade for ya, even if you wouldn’t do the same.

Strange to say, “Grenade” is somewhat a picture of the relationship between Christ and the non-Christian. Jesus died for everyone, and if we wouldn’t die for him, how then can we be in love with him?

Of course Bruno Mars is meaning for the song to be a picture of a relationship.. I know the male is meant to be the strong one in a relationship, and I would most definitely catch a grenade for you (and my friends, family and yours), but would you do the same? Is that love, or have I got it wrong?
